Initially I was hesitant because of the reviews of the previous model and saved all of the packaging thinking there was a good chance I was going to have to return this. After using it for about a month I have been pleasantly surprised to find that it has met all of my expectations off a toaster oven, exceeding them in certain circumstances.As with most appliances, the "getting to know you" period was a bit frustrating. Some things that you may want to consider are: 1- the print on the dials is very small, 2- the bake/ toast setting are the same on the dial, 3- there is no timer to automatically shut the oven off, 4- the first/lightest setting for toast begins with turning the dial at least one third of the way but is difficult to set because the print is difficult to see and in an unusual position. This is my 4th toaster oven over 36 years; and since it's used so often, I was lost when my last one gave out. I was used to having a large interior oven, and the inside measurements on this oven are 12 wide X 11-1/2 deep (12-1/2 in bump-out back of the center area of oven) X 6-1/2 high, which holds most of the everyday baking pans I use. The oven works great; and since this is my main reason for having a toaster oven, I'm thoroughly satisfied with my selection.It takes about 5 minutes to preheat to 350 degrees. time used to prepare the food for baking. As has been pointed out in some of the reviews I've read, there is no timer on the oven; but since none of my past toaster ovens have had a timer except for toast, I'm used to that and have a regular kitchen timer close at hand. After a few months of pretty frequent use, I noticed that when I set it to "ON" the unit would not heat. I tried changing to a toaster setting and encountered the same issue. At times, it works flawlessly, and other times it acts up.I've contacted Cuisinart and they suggested taking it back to the retailer and if they weren't able to exchange the unit, they would replace it under the 3 yr limited warranty. I contact the retailer and they will exchange the product. Most of my kitchen appliances are from Cuisinart(countertop water filter, pressure cooker, blender/processor combo, wand mixer, toaster, breadmaker), and haven't encountered any issues. I will continue to purchase their products because I am overall satisfied with the quality and service received from them. |
